About Mrs. Decatorsmith
Hi, I’m Lisa Decatorsmith and I offer the Eastern perspective on healing at Exhale. In 2002, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and opened Healing Traditions of Barrington, where I practiced privately for 18 years. I’ve continued my Master education in the field by studying the works of contemporary scholars such as Jeffery Yuen, Kiiko Matsumoto, and Tran Viet Dzung, MD.
Chinese Medicine is a vast and amazing healing modality that allows us to reframe physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual conditions that might otherwise stump most health professionals. My practice has given me fluency in these principles, applying them individually and realizing tremendous results. I’m able to perceive and appreciate the very subtle signals that your body sends as it boosts its strengths and asks for help with its weakness. I then use Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha, Acupressure and other subtle bodywork, and internal and external herbal medicines, to follow those signals and offer your body its own, individualized healing experience. I will also work with you on diet, exercise, and other lifestyle practices that allow you to master your own health and require less from health professionals.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy life with my husband and three kids, always some dogs, and a lot of music. I’m a big big fan of the great outdoors, love to hike, bike, and kayak. I also love to cook, tinker in the garden, and dream about someday growing all of my own food and herbs.
